What is Inter Mancunia?
Inter Mancunia FC is a brand new community football club based in central Manchester. We are a registered football club, affiliated to the Manchester FA.

Where do you play?
We play every Thursday from 6 to 7.30pm at Manchester Academy School.

How do I join?
You can just come along on a Thursday evening and start playing straight away. Please come on time so we can make sure we get you registered.

Are you in a league?
Not yet, but we plan to be very soon. At the moment we train every week, and sometimes we play friendly matches at the weekends or enter small tournaments. We’re also about to hold our very own tournament – the Brighter Futures Cup!

What kind of people play for you?
All sorts. But one of our main aims at Inter Mancunia is to make disadvantaged young people as welcome as possible – especially refugees and asylum seekers. We know it can be hard for refugees to get involved in local football - because of the language barrier, and because of the cost of equipment, pitch hire and league subs.

So I won’t have to pay anything?
Not if you can’t afford to. Players do make voluntary contributions, but nobody has to pay anything if they can’t afford it. We can even pay for your bus fare to training.

What are facilities like?
Good! We play on Manchester Academy’s excellent all-weather full size outdoor pitch.

Do I need my own kit?
Most players are able to bring their own kit, but if you can’t just let us know and we’ll find a way to help.

So is it just for refugees and asylum seekers?
No, absolutely anyone can get involved. We don't turn anyone away!
We have a really good mix of people and like to think we’re a positive force for community relations, as well as a decent team.

Is there an age limit?
No. Most of our players are aged between 16 and 25, but we don’t have any strict limit.

Can I volunteer?
Yes!  We will need volunteer coaches and people to help run the club, as well as players. So, if you have any experience in coaching a football team - or just want to learn – you can find out how to volunteer here.

How do you pay for pitches and coaches?
Inter Mancunia has been made possible by a grant from the Football Foundation, the UK’s largest sports charity, and by a substantial private donation.

Can I talk to someone about Inter Mancunia?
Of course. If you need to know anything else now, you can phone Jenny on 07795 567447 or contact us through the website.
